The Barrens are boring. I don’t get the hype over the area at all. Everyone I’ve ever talked to about the Barrens says that usually there isn’t enough space to hear yourself think, much less speak coherently.
Well, let me tell you, I’ve spent three whole days in the Barrens, and they are beyond boring. It’s just the same land over and over again, with the same colours, the same beasties, and the same towns. Nothing ever happens, I swear.
So I’ve decided to return to Splintertree Post in Ashenvale and see if they have any jobs for me that I can do to help the Horde. I spent all of today eradicating a large number of the Satyrs living in Satyrnaar to the north of the Post, and returned with their horns as proof of my kills. I actually had to expend time and effort to kill the Satyrs, and the job required me to summon and re-summon Grimvhug (my Voidwalker) a few times in order to complete it. Needless to say, he was not happy about it; he even went so far as to say “Send me back” when I called him to me the second time. Ungrateful wretch. I give him a feast of blood and suffering, and what does he repay me with? Grumbles and half-hearted vows of loyalty and subservience. Hmph.
Anyways, if I can manage it, I’ll try and get close to Satyrnaar and snap a picture of one of the Satyrs, but there’s no guarantees–they’re a pretty twitchy lot.
